Red and Hot Chilli by BGaming: mystery boxes, the bomb and a double-or-nothing Gamble round

Short answer — BGaming released Red and Hot Chilli on 7 October 2026, made with Cream Team, the studio behind Sweet Samurai. It is a 20-line slot with a Minesweeper-style Bonus game: three or four Bonus symbols start a field of mystery boxes with 3 or 4 Lucky Coins worth ×2 to ×250 the bet, and you keep opening boxes until a bomb ends the round. Afterwards you may risk the whole Bonus win in a Gamble round to double it, with the total capped at ×5,000; a loss forfeits the entire Bonus prize. The official page lists 96.35% RTP, medium-low volatility and a hit rate of 3.3.

BGaming says the Gamble round is the first such feature in its publishing portfolio. That one decision, double or nothing, is what this guide examines most closely, with peso examples clearly labelled as our calculation.

What did BGaming announce?

In its news release of 7 October 2026, BGaming describes Red and Hot Chilli as an #Entertainment slot “built on familiar paylines, instant-win Coins, and an interactive Minesweeper-style Bonus game”. The chilli character is the Wild, and a chicken appears in the Bonus symbols and “eventually” throws the bomb that ends the box-picking round. Product Owner of Publishing Igor Bondarenko is quoted saying the idea “was to give players more control over the Bonus game through simple choices”.

The official Red and Hot Chilli game page lists: Game Type Slots, Hit Rate 3.3, Lines 20, Max multiplier ×5,000, Volatility Medium-low, Max Win EUR 250,000, RTP 96.35% and Release Date 7 October 2026. We read both pages on 22 October 2026.

How does the mystery-box Bonus game work?

The Bonus game is played on a field of mystery boxes the same size as the main game. According to the official page:

  • Trigger: 3 Bonus symbols start the Bonus with 3 Lucky Coins; 4 Bonus symbols start it with 4 Lucky Coins, including at least one silver Coin.
  • Picking: open boxes manually or with auto-pick.
  • Lucky Coins: worth ×2 to ×250 the bet, according to the release.
  • Multiplier symbols: increase the values of all active Coins, Multipliers and Chillies.
  • Bag of Gold: copies the values of active Coins, Chillies and other Bags, adding them to its own value without removing them.
  • Chilli: collects active values, then closes all opened cells except its own, so they can be reopened with new symbols. Only one Chilli can be active at a time.
  • Bomb: ends the feature and locks in the accumulated result.

The page also lists “Max Win symbols” among possible reveals without explaining them in the overview, so we do not describe what they pay.

There is a small inconsistency worth noting. The release gives Lucky Coins a range of ×2 to ×250, while the game page’s description says Lucky Coins can award “random multipliers of up to ×100”. These may describe different things, such as a coin’s base value and a multiplier, but the official texts do not reconcile them. Check the paytable in the game.

Does picking boxes change your odds?

Choosing boxes yourself feels like control, and BGaming describes it as tension around “every reveal”. The pages do not say whether the box contents are fixed before you pick or how the bomb is placed, and they make no claim that manual picking returns more than auto-pick. Our reading is that the choice is about pace and experience; the RTP of 96.35% applies either way.

Should you take the Gamble round?

After the Bonus, you can wager the entire Bonus prize “for a chance to double it, capped at 5,000× the original bet”. The release adds a presentation detail: the chilli character takes five shots at a target. Losing “forfeits the entire Bonus game win”. Neither page states the probability of winning the Gamble.

Our worked example in pesos

Assume a ₱20 bet and a Bonus that ends with a total of ×80, or ₱1,600. If you gamble and win, you get ₱3,200. If you lose, you get ₱0. If the Gamble were a fair 50/50 coin flip, its average outcome would be ₱1,600, exactly what you already hold, so gambling would add risk without adding value. If the true chance is below 50%, which the pages neither confirm nor rule out, gambling would lower your average return. Either way, the only certain effect is a much wider range of results.

Where the ×5,000 cap matters

The cap stops the doubling. On a ₱20 bet, ×5,000 is ₱100,000. A Bonus win of ×3,000 (₱60,000) could not be doubled to ×6,000; it would be capped at ×5,000, so you would risk ₱60,000 to gain at most ₱40,000. Above ×2,500, the Gamble is lopsided against you on the cap alone, by our calculation.

What does the Buy Bonus menu offer?

Option (official page) What it does Price stated?
Chance ×2 Increases the chance of Bonus game activation by ×2 Not on the page
Coin Hunt Starts the Bonus game with 3 Lucky Coins Not on the page
Chilli Blast Starts the Bonus with 4 Lucky Coins, one guaranteed silver Not on the page

Without published prices, we cannot compare the cost of buying with the cost of waiting for a natural trigger. The in-game menu shows the price as a multiple of your bet; note it before buying, and remember that a bought Bonus can still end on the first bomb.

How does it compare with Sweet Samurai and other figures?

Cream Team’s earlier BGaming title, Sweet Samurai, released on 25 June 2026, is a very different game: a ways-pays slot on a 3x4x3x4x3 layout with no Bonus rounds or Buy options, according to its page.

Field (official page) Red and Hot Chilli Sweet Samurai
RTP 96.35% 97.60%
Volatility Medium-low Medium-high
Hit rate 3.3 7.00
Max multiplier ×5,000 ×4,500
Max win EUR 250,000 EUR 256,500
Bonus / Buy Box-picking Bonus, Gamble, three Buy options None
Log-scale bar chart: Lucky Coin values from 2x to 250x, Sweet Samurai maximum 4,500x and Red and Hot Chilli maximum 5,000x
Figures from the BGaming release and official game pages, read 22 October 2026. Logarithmic scale.

BGaming does not define “hit rate” on these pages. If it means one win every N spins on average, Red and Hot Chilli (3.3) would pay more often than Sweet Samurai (7.00), which fits its lower volatility label, but that interpretation is ours.

On cost: by our calculation, 96.35% RTP means an expected long-run cost of ₱365 per ₱10,000 wagered, compared with ₱240 for Sweet Samurai at 97.60%. That ₱125 difference per ₱10,000 is a real gap between two games from the same studio partnership.

A simple rule for the Gamble button

Because the Gamble round appears at the emotional high point of a session, right after a Bonus, it is worth deciding your rule in advance. Three workable rules, from most to least cautious:

  1. Never gamble. You keep every Bonus win as it lands. Over time this gives you the smoothest results the game allows.
  2. Gamble only small Bonuses. For example, only when the Bonus is under ×20 (₱400 on a ₱20 bet). You limit what a loss can take while keeping some of the thrill.
  3. Never gamble above ×2,500. As shown above, the ×5,000 cap makes the bet one-sided beyond that point.

Whichever rule you choose, write it down before you start. The thresholds above are our suggestions, not BGaming guidance.

What is not confirmed?

  • The Gamble round’s win probability.
  • Buy Bonus prices.
  • How the bomb is placed and whether manual picks differ from auto-pick.
  • Why the release says Coins reach ×250 while the page says multipliers up to ×100.
  • Availability in the Philippines: we have not verified any PAGCOR-licensed platform that offers it and do not claim one does.

Online gaming in the Philippines is for adults aged 21 and over, on licensed platforms only. Decide before you play whether you will ever press Gamble, and stick to it.
